Chernobyl season 2 is going to be lit.

Funny I’m in the middle of watching the Chernobyl series on HBO. Some scary shite. Definitely nothing to play around with.

I don't know anything about a nuc reactor.....is that fire close to the nuc reactor itself? But I would imagine if they lost the control section it would be just as bad.

I mean, if they hit the reactor and open it up, then the war is over. Both sides lose.
You could crash a 747 into a reactor building and it will likely be ok.

They are fixing to create anothe Chernobyl.....and that place is still off limits to humans.

Theyd have been foolish not to go cold knowing this was going on around other parts of the country.
It doesn't matter if the reactor is at power or not if you breach containment. Chernobyl blew because of a power spike, but the contamination wasn't because of the power spike. It was the naked nuclear core that was the issue.

Chernobyl was the worst nuclear event ever and only had a 1,000 square mile exclusion zone. Ukraine is about 230,000 square miles. They’ll be able to continue on with the war regardless of how this ends.

I'm probably wrong about this, but it took them months to contain the damage, and years to fully contain it, and that is without a conflict. Those things don't just burn out when the core is open in a few days.

I read reports of elevated radiation levels in the area. Hopefully that proves false.

It's all good once it hits the earth's core.

You need to watch the mini series about Chernobyl if you’re thinking like that. They’ll just give them lead aprons, and crotch protectors and say fight on.

I want to know what exactly they mean when they say this situation could be ten times worse than Chernobyl. That could mean a lot of different things, especially when it comes to nuclear material.

You seem to have a slight exaggeration of just how far reaching a meltdown is.
Most of those things are so deep in the swamp you'd hardly notice anyway.
(Sadly enough, Entergy seems to be one of the few organizations that didn't build that way.)
