In the latest win for people who are reluctant to leave their couches, UberEats—a food delivery service from the ride-sharing firm Uber—is rolling out into Baton Rouge.

“We’re excited to launch in Baton Rouge soon, bringing a way for people to get the food they love at Uber speed,” an UberEats spokesperson says in a statement. “Stay tuned for more information.”

It will also bring competition to Waitr, the Lake Charles-based food delivery service that has dominated the Baton Rouge market and expanded rapidly in recent years.

I'm a fan of UberEATS

I thought it was already in BR, couple weeks ago I recommended it to someone in BR and gave them a $10 first time code, guess they didn't use it

They have been dropping the ball lately. My last Waitr driver told me she was late because of traffic. This was mid day saturday in Prairieville.

I love this idea.

I literally use Waitr everyday. I don't have to leave the office and whatever I want to eat just shows up to the door.

The funny thing is that Waitr picks up from a lot of places that actually have their own delivery guys

I would think this would have to assume that the restaurant they work for doesn't partner with Waitr.

Doubt I use either. If I had to choose, it would be Waitr since it started here in Louisiana. Plus Uber is a bunch of leftists and I already deleted their app from my phone.

I had no idea this company was founded in Louisiana. Pretty cool.

I have to say I have never used Waitr, UberEats or any other food delivery app service option.

I'm old school and go pick it up myself for my family. I only want to have to contend with semen and saliva from the restaurant that's making my food and not the delivery driver that just got in a fight with his girlfriend and is pissed off at the world and wants revenge.
