Wait until you get Amazon Prime Now. They deliver within 2 hours.

Why do people willingly pay extra, for already expensive take-out?

It only makes sense to me for a large order or maybe if it's storming. No way I'm paying $20-21 for lunch for $13 worth of food.

People weren't to busy to go out and buy lunch before this existed.

If a group isn't going out for lunch, then it isn't a social event and I don't want to waste time during my work day. If I were to go out to get lunch somewhere, it's at least an hour out of my day between travel time, eating, and returning. If I have Waitr bring me the exact same food that I would have gotten otherwise, it costs me about ten dollars more, but I only need to take a fifteen minute break to eat lunch.

I make WAY more than $10 in that 45 minutes that I didn't spend just to leave to get lunch. Plus, that 45 minutes means that I can get the hell home that much earlier. Before Waitr and Ubereats, though, unless I were getting Chinese or pizza, I pretty much didn't have a choice on whether or not I was leaving for lunch.

Exactly. I work downtown and not really near many of the restaurants, so I have to drive around for 30 minutes looking for empty street parking (and dig for quarters) if I want to get food.

Plus (to J Murdah), have you never wanted food while drunk and unable to drive? Or while hungover and unable to put on real clothes?

I don't make much use of it because of the places I wouldn't feel like driving to, they don't offer delivery for.

the places they do offer, it doesn't make much sense to pay the waitr fee and tip the driver vs. just going to get it myself.

But what about waitr?

This isn't available in my area, but I was at a friend's house and they used it. They use it on a regular basis and said they never had any trouble, but competition is always good.
