Mr. Bates said that one of the reasons natural cooling wasn’t fully successful was that Philadelphia’s nighttime temperatures during the peak summer months weren’t low enough to allow natural ventilation to cool the place down
Yeah. Doesn’t get cold enough In fricking PHILLY to cool off at night during the summer. It’ll totally work in the south

People would be less fat if we had no AC. Health care costs would plummet.

Green cites a Nature.com study finding that building temperatures were set to the comfort preferences of 1960s-era men in suits and disregards the "thermal comfort" of female staffers.

But, on the flip side, healthcare costs for people who have medical conditions in which they need to stay cool would explode.

Yeah, 10,000 dead urban poors on Day one of the heat wave would go over great at the NYT.

Somewhat cute but the problem is that ppl like this eventually end up in power and are able to legislate shite like this.

So, would she fervently argue furnaces are equally sexist against males?

Good lord. I just went to her Twitter and she has completely doubled down and is calling out everyone that disagrees with her as "ableist". Wtf is wrong with these types of people?

There’s another factoid these two fail to understand, and that’s that homes and businesses today are not built to go without A/C. The days of tall ceilings and attic fans are long gone.

I think he meant more like Oregon, Washington, and northern California where the girls are warm.

If the government ever tries to take away A/C, it’ll be civil war. Even many libs would probably join us.

That's the biggest part. Homes were made to have breezeways and ways to alleviate heat. Now they're made to trap it in

Taylor Lorenz, a staff writer at The Atlantic took up the call, calling air conditioning itself "unhealthy, bad, miserable, and sexist." She called for a ban on air conditioning in general, and the internet rushed to defend the technology
I bet she has hers on. C unt

They are idiots, but this is the logical conclusion of the green (red) movement with regards to energy consumption. Air Conditioning is the single largest chunk of domestic energy consumption, and many "thinkers" see this as purely a luxury. Of course they would have us tighten our belts while they sip wine under another perfect Sonoma sunset.

Yes only two people have made this argument but I guarantee you that those two people are liberals. Why is it always liberals with these crazy outrageous movements?
