This is a fact. The road runs parallel to the tracks and is accessible from Airline. My friends dad worked woth the railroad and we used to catch crabs there back in the day.

At one time Eli Haydel (duck calling fame) and his family hunted at that camp. He grew up in Raceland and had family in Norco and St. Charles Parish.

That's a relief for you because, if I am not mistaken, the story about the abuse took place in the 90s.

I believe most of the abuse happened in the late 70s early 80s and the story came out in the early 90s. The dude is in Angola state penitentiary now.

My buddy belongs to that camp. Long waiting list…like years. They always doing maintenance on it and making sure its in good shape
