Baton Rouge was a nice little place back in the late Sixties when my dad was in law school. Virtually no crime or traffic back then.

Yeah, until all the white parents couldn't stand little Johnny attending schools with black kids and moved out to neighboring parishes. And now are commuting in 30 minutes one way clogging up our streets

I figured. It was named after a state so it had to be bad by now. Baton Rouge was a nice little place back in the late Sixties when my dad was in law school. Virtually no crime or traffic back then.

Anyone with half a functioning brain can tell you exactly what’s happened since then. A very unfortunate situation.

That IHOP has a sketchy clientele. Not just at night either.

My point is many of those who are complaining about traffic and concentrated crime in certain areas are part of the problem.

Not really for that area. Let's not pretend this is NBR on any old Indian name street. This is across the street from damn Hobby Lobby and Chik Fil A. Definitely a little abnormal

I prefer Baton Rogue. Sounds more menacing.

This isn't exactly unique to BR. Nola, Birmingham, Memphis etc have all had major flight to the suburbs in the past 30 years. Hard to fault people for wanting a better life for their kids

There is no imaginary boundary anymore, but you can pretend there is if you like.

That area started to suck as soon as they got rid of the original Great Wall of China Buffet. I’m hungry.

Nah. You ever been to that ihop on college drive?

I NEVER go in that place, and most certainly NEVER if I have my family with me. Way too sketchy and “culcha’d”.

ETA: and that applies to any time of the day for that place.

I didn't say there is a boundary, but don't act like shootings are an every day occurrence on College Dr.

There was a shooting near The cottages on Burbank a year or two ago that resulted in a death if I remember right. That almost never happens. In your eyes, that would be 'just another day in BR'?

So lots of families haven't left Orleans Parish for Jefferson or the Northshore?
