Contingency fee and no upfront costs. Lots of those guys would jump at this. Get a huge judgment to post on their advertisements, and bankrupt the “tough little dudes”. When they get through working up that case, it’ll be worth several million if not more. Little dudes will be putting up $10K to $20K in upfront costs for criminal attorney and defense attorney for civil suit.

It’s going to take many years of oilfield labor or personal training session to garnish several million from these kids. Cost you more to chase them around for the money than you would ever get out of it.

Plus, if you push the DA to pursue criminal charges, you’ll render them unemployable, further damaging your ability to collect.

Morons tried bullying the wrong guys. It happens, best to move on.

That kids nose was not bleeding on its own before the video started. There is more to this story than what the video shows and I'm banking those boys did show restraint till they had enough. The two fighters are the ones about to be paid. I'm sure the bar gets sued as well.

For what? I get you always bring in the deep pockets, but outside of having bouncers in the bathroom at all times, what could they have done?

No one is getting paid from this story other than lawyers who collect upfront fees.

And the bar has no liability here unless you can successfully allege that they should’ve had a bouncer guarding the shitter (unlikely).

I'm no lawyer but if a suit is filed you can bet the bar is brought in. They have insurance which means money.

Sure, they might. They have no liability so it’s a waste of time. Bar law suits are hard enough when the bouncer kicks your client’s arse let alone random patrons in a bathroom.

I got in a fight with a Reggie's Bouncer one night and ended up on the bathroom floor. Following week I had a nasty arse boil on the back of my neck I had to get drained.

Yeah cause everyone asks for a background check before they ever get in a bar fight.

Hard to get assault and battery coverage for most bars and if so it’s rarely purchased.
We have a sports bar with coverage and current assault claim and $$ have been paid out. Typically there’s a sub limit way less than primary limit of liability.
