Craziest shite ever seen on TV, and that is saying something, was in 1994 when Pakistan announced they had successfully tested a nuclear weapon and protestors in India AND Pakistan were literally and figuratively begging one another to use their weapons on one another. It was pretty fricking sobering. They were in the streets begging to be killed on both sides. Damndest thing ever. Its a wonder they weren't obliged....

There's a lot going on over here right now, we don't have time to worry about India or Pakistan.

I'm not saying we should get involved, except maybe to help deescalate if we can. But this will definitely affect us if they get into a shooting war.

The tech has been proven since 1945. Getting the nuclear material is the hard part. Once you do that the rest is relatively easy.

Pretty crazy to think, but a nuclear war in that region would probably improve the environment.

They fricking HATE each other. Like centuries old hate, and there is deep religious ties to the conflict as well.

Time to settle it then. If it's religious then it'll never end until one side is completely dead.

Is it really centuries old hate or 100 years of hate? Were there serious/significant racial violence prior to the partitioning of India by the Brits at the end of the colonial era?

The current iteration is from 1947 and the migration of Hindus and Muslims following the partition, but there was a reason for the partition and the two areas have had differences for a long time. At least that is my understanding I could be wrong
