Twitter's revenue has tanked over the past year. That's the only metric that matters.

Good I hope he destroys it. When twitter fails, we all win.

Yea I would say so. Yahoo is on par with CNN.

Well, I gravitate towards fortune, cinema blend, the telegraph, and business insider.

So you know there is a difference in what Elon thinks Twitter is worth vs the market cap, correct?
they are still related.
the market cap had dropped to 28 billion and now its back to 41 billion.

Whyt do leftists want him to fail so badly?
Its not just leftists. A large portion decent people who are anti-social media want to see X fail just so there is one less SM platform. What I don't think they understand is that if X fails then either the traffic from there will go to other SM or a new similar platform will pop up. And those different outlets will almost undoubtedly be leftist controlled.
I'm no social media fan but if its going to exist (and its not going anywhere) then hopefully at least one platform will be free-speech based.

You might be right, but I'm not sure. If your local hardware stores closes and another opens, sure, you go to the new one. But social media sites have a weird amount of buy in, and Twitter might be the acme of that. People don't like the feeling of having to "rebuild" the clout and following they already have, and that's especially true for older people. And assuming this copy and paste works, Twitter definitely trends older for social media:
Age Group --- Share of Users
13-17 --- 6.6%
18-24 --- 17.1%
25-34 --- 38.5%
35-49 --- 20.7%
Over 50 --- 17.1%
Do I think all of Twitter's users would just stop interacting with social media the way they do with Twitter? No, I don't think so. But would a solid third just... stop? Yeah, maybe. Twitter is a bit of strange holdover from the early days of the mass market internet. Same with Facebook. If FB died tomorrow, I highly doubt even half of its current userbase would migrate over to whatever new service takes its place. I know I wouldn't. Using it is more habit than anything else at this point.

I remember when either he was firing people or self-important assholes quit working because they didn't want to work for Elon, it was forecast that without certain people handling certain things that Twitter would cease to exist a few weeks after that.

i dont feel strongly about elon one way or the other but twitter has become a dogshit platform. half my notifications are spam/porn bots, randomly promoted tweets (in addition to the "for you" page full of people you dont follow), or an alert begging me to turn on notifications or link my phone number.
also with the comment section prioritizing blue checks you have to scroll through a mess of crypto idiots before you get to a normal person

Dude is a modern day Edison and Midas all in one. Folks who bet against him do so at their own peril.

I deleted my account a few years ago but it’s funny because this was my reason for deleting then
My feed was no longer normal people, but just a bunch of “journalists” and news agencies being promoted and all the replies were from “verified” users (the vast majority of which were left leaning viewpoints) and it took forever to scroll to find actual real people commenting.
the whole platform just lost normal, everyday accounts posting normal stuff so as a normal, everyday user it just lost all appeal for me. I didn’t need another news aggregator or discovery engine for influencers, politicians, celebrities or “journalists”/bloggers

It was all wishcasting. The media reports what they want to become true and not what is presently true
Not necessarily. The Israel/Blackrock/CNN/Biden Admin can all coordinate to tank Elon and they can do real damage to him. If Trump loses, Elon is fuuuucked because they gonna funnel so much money to big aerospace firms to catch up with Space-X, they're going to dry up Twitter's ad revenue, they're going to prop up other EV car companies to beat Tesla. I don't think people realize how powerful and ubiquitous in top levels of society these people are.

It certainly isn’t a failure, but it’s certainly a sewer of disinformation these days.

I do wish he would unban me.
I was hacked and my account was permanently banned for spamming.
I appealed but have heard nothing about it 3 months later.

Less than it was before.
Also, misinformation/disinformation is a part of life. It’s your job to filter out what you think is bullshite.

Couple of things to unpack
These valuations are not necessarily accurate representations of the true valuation of the company. It’s actually beneficial to the employees to have a lower valuation, as they’ll make more in the event of an IPO (the larger the spread, the more in an employee’s pocket). We’ve actually had to explain this to board members as they sometimes don’t understand how this works for private companies. BTW, it’s not an inaccurate valuation, it’s just one that will be at the lower end of the valuation range that can still be justified to the auditors(valuation is an art, not a science).
Regarding market cap, Twitter/X does not have a market cap, as it is not listed on a market that provides an arms length share value. It has a valuation, and valuations can vary based on the set of assumptions used. In practice, you’d like to value using three different approaches and see where the ranges overlap.

Funny thing is Elon is old school liberal.
Democrats are progressives, they loved Elon when he was just building electric cars, but now he exposed government attacks on free speech, they root against him personally
I don't know why, but right wingers/libertarians love them some egomaniacs with hair plugs
