lol...all you did was say how big it is.

Tell me WHY losing 6k employees is going to be so problematic.

Where did I say they could do it with 200 EEs?

I think they could definitely do it with 1,500.

Im not sure why people downvoted this, but I agree with this. No one is good at everything. And being a billionaire doesn't mean you are good at everything.

I know once this board likes someone they put them on a pedestal.. And I like Musk, but I do think he is out of his league on this one. I hope I am wrong because I would like to see if he can maximize what it can be, but I just don't think this is where he will excel.

Sfp,

If your position is, he’s still a billionaire so he’ll be fine then yeah your right.

But You have to do be doing some bias/rationalization to say that he’s shrugging off the potential loss of $42 billion & going to sleep with no stress tonight.

I know he’ll be fine but

The dude built a company that can literally land rockets on a barge in the middle of the ocean and reuse them but you think he can't figure out a social media app?

He's also currently digging transportation tunnels and is about to own the largest ISP in the world with Starlink but he can't figure out an app.

Some of you people are either truly delusional or just biased in betting against him because the media has labeled him as bad since he stopped sucking off Democrats.

Elon isn't SBF and Twitter isn't FTX, bubba. He's not losing everything anytime soon.

Had Elon not purchased Twitter, they may have been facing some major issues in this current climate, though. Twitter wasn't profitable, was clearly overvalued, and had an insane amount of employee bloat. SV, generally, is in shambles right now and Twitter would possibly be the leader of that pack.

There was actually a twitter thread posted today suggesting that Musk faked those degrees, at least the physics degree. I can't seem to post the link because when I click on it, it says the tweet is unavailable, but when I click a reply to it, I can see the tweet, which is strange. Regardless, here's a screenshot.

Elon said what Twitter truly is at its core is a software and server business. He has helped design apps that enable cars to self-drive but somehow he apparently can't go in and fix Twitter.

He has also long had a vision for what he calls "X" which is an app to do literally everything much as China has. AKA a super app. He has said numerous times buying Twitter speeds up the realization of that. The people that think he spent $44 billion and will just give up if it doesn't work out and not put more money into it to realize his vision are stupid or purposely obtuse.

It also isn’t over yet. Kind of early to be writing epitaphs on this deal, don’t you think?

I know someone that was in the Physics department when he was there. It wasn’t faked. That thread is complete BS.

Twitter should be able to operate with 100 employees or less. Just pay them well
Or do what every other large company and the Government does. Contract out the work. Huge benefits to using contractors vs company employees.

Well, of course...

Otherwise, Penn would've surely called bullshite on it years ago.

Maybe that is why it's sort of deleted.

They only need 500 workers to run that place. 100 can do it on a skeleton crew.

I couldn’t read all the garbage in this thread but a lot of you clearly have zero idea what a large company requires. You realize Twitter generates hundreds of millions of dollars of revenue a year? Their finance department needs hundreds of people alone.

Hell, they’re subject to an FTC consent order under which they could be facing hundreds of millions of dollars of fines. Combine that with attorneys solely doing customer contracts and litigation and their legal department needs to be several hundred people at a minimum.

Utterly wild to realize there are people who think you can run a $44 billion company with 100 people.
