Emmy-winning actor Christina Applegate announced Tuesday that she had been misdiagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a condition she believed she had for more than five years, leaving her “back at square one” as she continues to experience debilitating medical issues.
Applegate, who revealed the misdiagnosis on the latest episode of her podcast, “MeSsy,” broke down in tears as she recalled a doctor recently telling her: “Congratulations. You don’t have MS.” She said she was “not happy at all” about the news.
“You don’t get misdiagnosed and then all of a sudden I’m better,” Applegate told her co-host, “The Sopranos” actor Jamie-Lynn Sigler. “I haven’t gotten better, Jamie. If anything, I’ve gotten worse in some ways.”
“I’m back at square one, that I don’t know what’s going on with me,” said Applegate, who spent months in the hospital this year and recently took a break from co-hosting “MeSsy” with Sigler, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis roughly 25 years ago.

On one hand it’s good that she doesn’t have MS, on the other hand something is clearly wrong and I hope she gets some answers

It could be something worse.

Applegate has been a near-vegan
Lady, it is time to eat a steak. Ditch the veganism.
Could be a lack of meat in her diet causing the issues she is facing.

And she is a mess about it. She is sad now she doesn't have MS. I guess because she still feels like hell.

Too bad House isn't practicing anymore
There should be about a billion celebrity obsessed specialists fawning over her. Why does it sound like she went to one doctor?

Sounds like similar symptoms to what my dad has - transverse myelitis. Horrible to watch his body deteriorate from it.

How is MS diagnosed? I thought it was done MRI and/or spinal tap?

I rather have MS than other autoimmune disorders and neurological illnesses.

They use both as parts of the diagnosis. MS is a diagnosis of exclusion, and there is no definitive test.

Same with Parkinsons.
Parkinsons will be the fastest growing neurological disease in the next 20 years.

Maybe its Lupus?

I sincerely hope they haven’t fricked her body up by treating something she doesn’t have.
Some of the corticosteroids and introns and shite they treat with have major side effects. One is that moon face look she has.

It’s never lupus.
