re: Turning on your hazard lights in rain-what does this accomplish?

What's wrong with that?
It turns off your turn signals and also makes it harder to determine when you are braking. That's what the problem is. It makes it harder for the cars around you to determine your next move. Like I said earlier it makes the situation more dangerous for everyone around you.

They aren't needed in Baton Rouge because as soon as a drop of rain hits someone's windshield they slow down to 4 mph

putting your hazzards on while driving in the rain increases your chance of getting rear ended. By constantly seeing the tail lights flash, it slows down the trailing drivers reaction time when the lead driver hits the breaks.

Driving with hazards may be illegal but what is safer?
A) Driving 70 mph down the interstate in severe wind and rain because you're "that guy" who doesn't understand why people slow down in a tropical fricking storm and has to prove to himself that he's a better driver than everyone else?
or B) Using caution, helping yourself stand out to other drivers out when visibility is low.
I mean I know the government says one of those things is illegal but I don't need them to tell me what is safer.

It's also illegal to drive in conditions where visibility is so poor as to require flashing lights.
Get off the goddamn road.
Get off the goddamn road.

There is a reason it is illegal.

Makes it easier to see the cars

Some of you people are fricking idiots. I've driven in shite that you can't see 5' in front.
The hazards are to help see cars in that type of shite.
As an aside, big rigs do it to let people to know to slow the frick down because you about to hit a standstill

Alright genius, let's say that I am following you in the rain and you have your hazards on. I decide I can go a little faster and change lanes to pass you. For some reason you decide you want to change lanes as well. What light on your car will tell me you are about to change lanes?
Posted on 7/15/16 at 12:34 am to NewIberiaHaircut
In the type of storm I'm talking about, your dumbass would want to go faster and speed
Posted on 7/15/16 at 12:35 am to NewIberiaHaircut
If you are using your hazards why are you changing lanes?
You should be going well under the speed limit.
Maybe in the fricking rain, don't follow so close to the car in front of you genius.

I didn't say a thing about speeding. If the limit is 70 and you're going 50 there is no problem with me going 55. But my question wasn't answered. You guys just assumed I'm the one being an idiot on the road. So again, if you have your hazards on, what light on your car is going to tell me your intention to change lanes? You know, in case you come up on someone doing 40 and you want to do 50.

In that fricking type of storm I'm talking about you shouldn't be passing shite.
You are an idiot and your haircut just confirms it

My haircut has trolled the frick out of you and you still haven't answered my question.
Posted on 7/15/16 at 1:06 am to NewIberiaHaircut
You and your haircut hasn't trolled shite.
And I did answer by telling you how stupid you are.
Don't be rustled!

Passing in the rain - legal
Hazards in the rain - illegal (in Louisiana)

No it doesn't. Unless you have amber hazards then it makes it harder to determine when you are braking. You are making the situation more dangerous for everyone around you. Just turn on your lights and drive your shite.

If you're on an interstate where people are travelling 70 typically, but you are now travelling 25-30, it's a big heads up that you shouldn't try to blow by. I don't typically do it, but in very hard rains where you have to come to a crawl to see the lanes and avoid hydroplaning, I get it.

Apparently, your stupid arse does, because even when told it's wrong you insist on doing it.
