Which is a reasonable request. You don't feel safe driving in the storm without your flashers on. Pull over and wait it out. There are plenty of people that are A OK with it.

I can literally say the same exact thing about the opposite - having the flashers on ... which was the premise of the original statement.

When you are stuck on the interstate during a bad rainstorm for your first time take note of the 18-wheelers, I'd be very surprised if any of them don't have their hazard lights on
The last time I drove through a blinding rainstorm on the interstate, that is exactly one of the things I noticed. All the women and people scared to drive in a rainstorm are in the right lane with their flashers on. The big rigs are in the left lane passing everybody without flashers.

You sure can say the opposite thing.

However, the fact that you don't see the ridiculousness of the statement is telling.

ETA: Just realized that I'm arguing with a woman about driving. Time to check out. Have a good weekend.

it was meant to be ridiculous - to highlight how ridiculous it is to tell me to pull over for doing something that makes you feel unsafe even though the action is legal in the majority of the country.

also i'm not a woman

I'm just driving in a manner allowed by the majority of the country. Sorry, but if your too scared to get on the road in the rain with some flashers around just pull on over till the rain stops.

It is legal in Louisiana. Look up RS 32:327 under C. This has been discussed on the radio stations with state police. Trooper Maddy or whatever her name is was punked on WWL a few years ago about this. She said it was illegal so the radio host asked for the statute. When she came back on later, she said it isn't illegal.

prohibited except on authorized emergency vehicles, school buses, or on any vehicle as a means of indicating a right or left turn, or the presence of a vehicular traffic hazard requiring unusual care in approaching, overtaking or passing.

Actually, they do use hazards but for diff reasons. I believe in Germany, cars are required to have yellow hazards, can't also be brake lights. But there mainly use them for warning drivers approaching from behind that there's stopped traffic or a brand new accident ahead. And the hazard button in your dash is often really prominent so you can hit it while going 90-120 mph.
Also, while it does rain a lot and often in Germany, at least in the north and west parts where I lived for about 7 years, we only had a thunderstorm once different weather patterns I guess. They used the hell out of them in the fog though.

Yea I got the reference dumbass. That being said, some people including you evidently felt the topic relevant enough to discuss again, ad nauseum, for 9 pages and counting. So I was simply pointing out that, while the topic is probably Germans, they do in fact use hazards on the autobahn.

And calling someone who signed up on this site 3 years before you a noob is laughable.

It's just another example of people turning into petrified emotional women anytime they are caught driving in the rain. It is AMAZING how many otherwise functional adults just completely lose the ability to drive in the rain.

Drop down to half the speed limit, turn your hazards on, come to a complete stop on turns, bob in and out of lanes to avoid small puddles, forget that turn signals still apply...it's astonishing. People just absolutely have mental meltdowns.
