It's true. I remember the lead-up to Katrina vividly.

I tried to take comfort in what Breck said, but my gut told me that I'd dodged Ivan a year earlier in MS but I would not be dodging anything in LA a year later.

Bob Breck was considered something of a novelty / wackjob at the time. Not sure when people started thinking of him as some kind of top-tied meteorographer.

If you ask my grandmother, Nash Roberts should have been arrested for murder in 1969 with his call on Camille. He did not initially make the Biloxi/ Gulfport call....he kept telling people that ut was going in at Mobile....Grandmother would turn him off and watch any other channel....hell,she rathered Russ Minshew, Bart Darby....or Dallas Raines. She did get a big kick out of Breck when he once did a weathercast in shorts and sandals.

Tulane/LSU.....no Nancy Russo....What about Al Duckworth?Don Westbrook.

Not having Nash Roberts in the 1 spot is criminal.

I do not use gender or race in my rankings. For the record, Carl Arredondo and Dave Barnes are/were Mexican American. Bruce Katz is Jewish.

So quick, it seems, are people to assume Nash Roberts was always correct. Interesting to hear the stories about how he whiffed on Camille, yet the way Nashites tell it, he was never wrong. I remember vividly him whiffing on Andrew's approach in 1992 as well.
