Based on the current forecast track from NHC, it will likely impact the Georgia and South Carolina coasts during the day Wednesday. Obviously, the track is still subject to change, though.

New advisory has it down to 991mb with winds 85 mph
Also, this meets the 24hr criteria for RI.

So the stronger it gets means a more western course still?
That’s not good.

Whatever the global models are seeing (or not seeing) the 12z HWRF isn't buying it and is stronger and a bit south of 06z.
It'll be interesting to see if HWRF performs well again this year; I assumed last year was an aberration with other models being hurt by the lack of data from flights.

It wasn't good by accident last year. Whatever upgrades they did were money on structure and in the neighborhood on what that would mean for strength.
It's not that it got stuff right last year, it's how and why it got it right that gives it a lot of credence until I see a reason otherwise.

That's true, the other models' failing doesn't make HWRF right.

I'm going to trust it until I see a reason otherwise. Pretty straightforward.
I'm not going to bite PEEJ.

I want the official OT Hurricane Thread(TM) record to reflect that I am not involved in the current shitshow.
