Gotta love when the very center red/orange/angry part is headed directly at you. I'm gonna be in the exact same position Houma is in about an hour. Already lost power briefly and we're just getting started.

Issued: 2026-06-18 04:33:00 CDT|Expiring: 2026-06-18 05:15:00 CDT

Tornado Warning issued June 18 at 4:33AM CDT until June 18 at 5:15AM CDT by NWS New Orleans LA

TORLIX

The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...

Northwestern Jefferson Parish in southeastern Louisiana...

* Until 515 AM CDT.

* At 433 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing both

tornadoes and straight line wind damage were located over Kenner,

moving northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without

shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.

Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree

damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...

Kenner, Metairie, Harahan, and Elmwood around 440 AM CDT.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include New

Orleans Armstrong Airport.

This includes Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 222 and

231.

Seems pretty nasty out right now. According to the radar there's a bit more to come.

Pretty much every flight in and out of MSY today still shows on time. Im surprised they havent freaked out yet.

Phone started ringing for a tornado alert. about 15 minutes ago.. already cancelled.. A lot of people are out of power in North Kenner... They are thinking a tornado touched in Boutte...

I fly into BTR at 10am from Dallas. Was worried last night, but thinking I’ll be ok now. Looks like NOLA is getting the worst of it

Northshore here as well. Every phone in the house and our alarm system went off 10 minutes ago with an imminent tornado warning.

Looking at the radar I’m not sure if travel to Baton Rouge for work in 30 minutes is a wise idea.

Weird how the rain has just completely missed ne in BR. Light spotty rain but that's it.
