Space flight engineering in Huntsville should be in demand now that NASA announced plans to run the Gateway Mission from Marshall Space Flight Center.

Gray, why don’t you get on with a consulting firm?
Because you actually have to know things to consult people on said subject

Guy is going through $80k because he's probably eating out every night and spending $15 on mixed drinks.

After 43 years, I can say now that working is way overrated, head west young man, grab a surfboard and enjoy life, we are all going to die anyway, why do you need stuff?

Been offshore for 21years. I’m a senior mud engineer. I’ve been through two major downturns and several slow times. I’ve tried a few times to get out, but the time off and providing for my family out weighed everything else. Hang in there and it will pay off! Maybe try to go work for a third party company and run down hole tools! Shouldn’t be hard with your degree! Good luck!!!

Thats what I do. We have multiple PE's working for us that cant find work as a PE so they run tools. We are hiring also.

I almost went back to service with them but it was going to be too big of a pay cut.

Yep. I'm working for XTO and they want 5 million barrels a day by 2025. They aren't anywhere near that number so I'm hoping it lasts until then.
You went directional?

I wish. That was my plan coming out of school but the big down turn was kicking off so my offer got pulled. Ended up doing DW subsea and completions for Big Blue for awhile then went to DW production which was a mistake. I really want to get back to D&C but I am with a operator now doing projects so unless I get laid off or somehow get offered a company man training program position I doubt I will get back to it.
I miss the downhole side of things.
