Lived here for 3 years now. Overall I’m young with no kids so it affects my life minimally but my family from a very nice and well run town are totally blown to hear about the following issues that are so rampant:

Sewage and water board having a federal lien

Mayor having a federal lien

Catch basins having contracts but not getting cleaned

Inspectors going home for the day instead of inspecting construction sites

The list goes on. They literally could not wrap their heads around it. My brother was asking how the federal government hasn’t essentially eviscerated the NOLA city government and started it totally over.

Catch basins are getting cleaned. The mains and laterals that they feed aren’t, so it’s pointless.

Just happened across this video today from the 1940's about New Orleans. Listen to how New Orleans was spoken about then, and imagine how far it fell.

Nothing is different than it’s ever been in NO, except less Yellow Fever

They probably cant wrap their heads around it because it's not corruption...its incompetence.

Big difference and you should learn the meanings of the the 2

I'm at the hotel monteleone in line to check in at about 11:00 in the morning. Guy in front of me says to the girl at the desk "I just flew in from LA, I really want to shower before the game, can you let me into my room?" (It's the Saints Rams game). She says sorry sir can't let you into your room until 3:00. Guy says that's no good, I just came in from LA, can I please get in my room. Girl says sorry, can't do it. Guy reaches into his pocket, pulls out a $100 bill. Says come on, I just flew in from LA. I just want to shower. She says "just one moment sir." Goes back to talk to her girlfriend for a minute. Comes back and says "Believe it or not something just opened up." Got damn if that baw didn't get taken straight to his room.

Used to be a hell of a lot more corrupt than it is now.

Truth.

Now try to get liquor, gaming, or a nightclub permit. Then you need to pay the mob either directly or indirectly.

New Orleans is what happens when everyone that normally challenges progressive ideology moves away.
