Grey market dealers sell authentic watches at a discount from retail....

Or a premium, sometimes HUGE if the watch is hard enough to get. Patek, AP, and Rolex SS sports watches almost all carry significant premiums.

Sounds like you should be buying from a dealer, with all your concerns. I mean that is why they are there and the piece of mind is what you are paying for.

Yeah I figured it would be used and that’s ok if I get one that’s in nice shape I’m cool.

* Would you avoid “Private” sellers?
They usually don’t have many reviews

They don’t carry the older model I really want. I’m in a interesting spot because I can save on the model cause I’m not as much of a fan of the newer models so price wise I’ll save but I have to be willing to be patient then trust the online used dealer isn’t selling bunk products I guess. Hopefully by checking reviews that’s my piece of mind.

Bernardwatch.com. Brick and mortar store in Austin, Tx. Totally legit.

Private sellers are find if you can vet them. Plenty of great sellers on WatchUSeek and TRF. The problem is finding a well-reviewed seller that is selling the specific watch you want.

A 12 YO watch is going to be hard to find from the major websites and dealers. Finding one new would usually be from a small dealer that doesn't move a lot of watches.

Don’t buy a watch from this guy. His prices are way higher than just about everyone else. You can save thousands by going with other established dealers.

If one grey market dealer has a better reputation and offers better service than the others then they likely can charge more. I guess if you’re spending $40-$100k for a watch reputation counts for a good bit. I know a repeat buyer from David and he’s very happy, so it is what it is.

His prices are in line with other grey market sellers. My transaction with him was outstanding, and the price was right.

I recently bought a Tudor black bay bronze from Jomashop a few months back. Everything went perfectly and was as advertised.

I'm surprised the manufacturers allow that

I don't believe that they do, but that doesn't mean that ADs don't do it.

This.

I've bought some really nice watches from Jomashop and always had really good experiences.

Loved my Tissot and Hamilton I got from Joma.

Has anyone heard of Crown and Caliber? Seems to be another website with seemingly decent inventory that pops up when I look online.

His prices are several thousand higher for same exact watch. I don’t see how he sells any watches.
