Israel has done nothing but cause chaos since they became a country
They were attacked on day 1 by palestinians who got their asses handed to them trying to push Israel into the sea and then immediately attacked by several of the surrounding Arab/muslim countries who took a good beating themselves while also failing to make Israel extinct.
Iran has been the biggest supporter of the continued attacks since Egypt and Jordan stopped.

There wasn't a Palestinian state, true, however, that doesn't mean there was Palestinian land.
There have been people living in the area of Palestine for millennia and even at times there have been provinces like under the Romans and British that held the name Palestine.
That doesn’t make the land Palestinian, it makes it Roman or British.
quote:
The Maori never formed their own state, but we wouldn't say the British were justified in taking their land.
We would absolutely consider the Maori a state today, even though they didn’t consider themselves one as they met all 4 criteria.
The Palestinians, at no point in history, have held all 4 requirements to be a state.

but rather the independence of the Palestinian homeland.
They had the chance. They said no and declared war. They lost.
quote:
A homeland doesn't mean there has to be a sovereign state on top of it.
Yes, it quite literally does.
quote:
New Zealand is the homeland of the Maori although there was never a Maori state. When people support for Maori independence from the British, it is in the context of the freeing of their homeland where the Maori lived, toiled, had livelihoods, not because there was a literal Maori state in history.
Again, by the modern definition of a state, the Maori absolutely were a state.

Pretty much. Israel might be the OG’s of FAFO back then

Practically speaking you are probably right. Again, I’m frustrated bc we had a diplomatic-first approach in place I would like to think could’ve been improved over time to prevent.
Is what it is I suppose
Probably a waste of time to negotiate with terrorists, these aren't reasonable people.
America's problem is we keep trying to deal reasonably with unreasonable people.

And Israel funds ISIS through Gaza.
What’s your point? Both their hands are dirty

There's a pretty good argument that Iran has been the single largest "cause of chaos" in the Middle East since the 70's.

Agree to disagree on this one. I didn’t love the original agreement or how it progressed but I did like our ability to squeeze the regime economy wise.
Proxy wars could be brought up but at this point not sure it matters. We are actively involved now

Proof?
Are you going to use the same trope that Israel supported Isis over Hamas in the same way they support PA (fatah) over Hamas?

Soooo no other arguments? Just a semantical one?
Remember when Israel accepted the 2 state solution, then the Palestinians and their Muslim friends said no, declared war, got their shite pushed in, declared war again, got their shite pushed in. Declared war again. Got their shite pushed in. Sent rockets. Sent rockets. Sent missiles. Sent rockets. Declared war again. Got their shite pushed in. Sent more rockets. Sent more missiles.
Perpetual victims while being perpetually hostile.

however, that doesn't mean there was Palestinian land.
Romans first used the term. It’s was Judaea before Romans wanted to spite the remaining Jews they didn’t kill or run off. Muslims are appropriating the name just like the land.
quote:It does today, if did back when Romans changed the name from Judaea, and it did in 1947 just before the palestinians said no to the arab state proposal by the UN. Afterwards the unclaimed land ended up being taken by Egypt, Jordan, and Israel. That area has a sovereign state over it for most of its history including the Kingdom of Judah and Kingdom of Israel, and none were even called palestine much less controlled by palestinians until the Romans changed the name and not because of arab muslims. The area under the Byzantines was mostly pagans and Christians. Arabs invaded. Christians fought back including forming a kingdom twice before the invading muslims finally took over until the Ottoman Empire broken up.
A homeland doesn't mean there has to be a sovereign state on top of it. New Zealand is the homeland of the Maori although there was never a Maori state.
Jews and Christians have better claims for area being their homeland than invading muslims.
Regardless The Polynesians didn’t even get to New Zeland until somewhere between 1280 and 1350 mostly after the Kingdom of Jerusalem ended. James Cook showed up in 1769. Some Dutch showed up in the 1600s.
Jews and Christians go back a lot further in what is today Israel.
