Palestine doesn’t come close to being what is recognized as a country.
Not sure why this is being debated in this thread. It’s simply fact, Palestine is not nor has it ever been a country

And I’m Vietnam war age. America does not need to be involved in another war but Iran cannot be allowed to have the ability to build a nuclear weapon.
And some of these war mongers will blast CCR on their radio tomorrow

So…. Missiles and bombs of nuclear and industrial sites with no strategic support of a political hand off will “topple” the regime?
Not happening

For one thing WicKed Ways is probably learning a lot tonight. Not sure how much they take with them, but their ignorance is lessening with each line they read.

Generous of you to assume they actually comprehend what they sound out.

I didn't say this action would topple the regime, I just said the regime should have been toppled years ago.
Making sure they don't obtain nuclear weapons is the next best thing.

Member when Israel accepted the 2 state solution and the Palestinians said nah, declared war, got their shite pushed in, and have continued to live as pitiful little subjugated pawns for Iran?

I don't, however, support any type of ground war and especially not coupled with any type of nation rebuilding.
He has proven we can end most conflicts via targeted, overwhelming force. Shock and awe, not boots on the ground.
I'm hoping this time is no different.

Fair enough. I’m struggling with the game plan here only because we are joining the booming of a country and delaying their ability.
Key word is delaying… it’s like trying to eradicate bamboo from your yard. You can chop it down but it keeps spreading/returning.
Rinse/repeat

There is a lot of hatred for the regime within Iran. The people and the actual country of Iran are absolutely beautiful.
The fact that the internet has legit been completely shut down in Iran for the last day or two is a pretty good sign imo there is a lot of unrest amongst the people so we will see.
As long as zero boots on ground.

There wasn't a Palestinian state, true, however, that doesn't mean there was Palestinian land. Tons of ethnic groups didn't have countries before the arrival of European colonization. The Maori never formed their own state, but we wouldn't say the British were justified in taking their land.
There were people (i.e. Palestinians) already living there before the Jews arrived in the 19th century. People who had livelihoods, owned farms, cattle, and livestock. When they say "Free Palestine", they mean not in the context of a sovereign nation state but rather the independence of the Palestinian homeland.
A homeland doesn't mean there has to be a sovereign state on top of it. New Zealand is the homeland of the Maori although there was never a Maori state. When people support for Maori independence from the British, it is in the context of the freeing of their homeland where the Maori lived, toiled, had livelihoods, not because there was a literal Maori state in history.
The fight for freedom doesn't always revolve around the concept of a literal sovereign country. Ideas such as having a state as a representative of a nation's sovereignty are modern recent inventions. For most of human history, most people considered the land they lived on as the definition of having a "homeland" i.e. a place where they belong to.
Enough education to you plebs for me today. Have a good one fellas

Probably the only good option really.
I prefer to bomb their nuclear sites every so often than get into Iraq 2.0 in a much larger country.
Personally, I think we should just close our borders and only worry about America but that isn't really realistic in this day and time.

They are and I agree. But I also remember the Arab Spring and there was a lot of hope Iranians were making progress…
If you do not actively assist with eradicating the regime and their henchmen it likely won’t work. That said, I don’t want it to be our service members doing it

Practically speaking you are probably right. Again, I’m frustrated bc we had a diplomatic-first approach in place I would like to think could’ve been improved over time to prevent.
Is what it is I suppose
