WTF am I supposed to use my truck for. I'm an upper class guy. I don't need to do any hard dirty work. People haul stuff to me. 51/2 feet.
WTF do you even have a truck?

You know.... as a man, I was given two titties with nipples. Now, I know I will never need those titties.... God knows I will never need to titties, but I got them just in case. Same goes for the 2500..

Never heard that before.
6.75, I can put 8' material crossways and close the tailgate. Handy as a shirt pocket...

I'll never understand this thinking.
Pls read my WHOLE statement. If you NEED the extra foot, or 2.5’(8’ box) then by all means buy it. And it’s not really thinking, it’s buyers habits. Not everyone wants/needs 6.5’ or 8’ boxes on their trucks, whether it’s parking(enclosed garage @ home) or driving experience…

I got an 8’ bed that never has to be made.

How much do you need to haul? That’s the deciding factor.

I'm telling yall, crew cab 8' bed is where its at.
Rides better. Miles of room. Put a topper on it if you dont need a gooseneck hitch and you've got the ultimate everything rig.
Parking is a non-issue. Height is the only real problem and the longer bed doesn't make it any taller.

Need a crew cab...
A crew and a 8' ; you gotta go to the airport to turn around.

But what do you haul? What good is a truck if you don’t have to haul a load in the bed or use it to tow something? I owned a truck when I had a big boat to tow but with the sale of the boat so went the truck, gone, I no longer had any use for it. You can buy a very nice l luxury ride what it cost to buy a stupid truck

I have the 5.5 bed but my wife says it’s big enough.
Posted on 9/15/25 at 9:23 pm to cubsfan5150
Extended cab 6.5’ bed. And if I didn’t have the kids to haul around from time to time I’d go back to a single cab 6.5’ bed.

Me? Lots of stuff. Plenty of room in the cab and in the bed. Its wonderful for family trips, camping trips, hunting trips, hardware store trips. Its great for everything except pulling forwards into small parking spots. Back in parking spots and its a non-issue.
Why would you want a smaller truck when a bigger one is basically the same price. The purpose of a truck is to haul stuff. Why pay the same for a truck that can haul less?

I get all the use of the 6’ bed and only sometimes wish I had the 8’. But I doubt I ever get an 8’er.
At no point do I ever wish I had a crew cab. I never have more than 1 adult passenger in my truck. If the kids aren’t comfortable in the extended cab I’ll show them how we used to ride when I was a kid.
