It comes with a 2.7 liter turbo 4 cylinder engine.
Thoughts?

I think they would have to run it at such a high RPM, it would be worn out in a couple of years.

Just no. And why?? The 5.3 L V8 is one of the best motors of all time. If it ain't broke...

Yeah that would definitely concern me but I'm no mechanic.
The new model does look very nice though

Never buy a truck with a new engine from a domestic manufacturer.
Never.
Never.

It's kind of funny imo. Chevy owners have been ragging on the ecoboost engines for years. Now they are imitating it

GM, king of recalls. Count me out.

Watch the video if you have time. I am no auto expert at all so I don't know. Supposedly it functions like a diesel but is gas.

I'm all about the round wheel wells. Game changer.

200K on mine, runs great, routine maintenance
I would not get any other engine in this vehicle

That is what I have in my 2011 Siverado and it is strong as mule.
I have never been married to any one automaker, I have owned them at one time or another. But I recent had a 2018 Colorado for a couple of days. That is bad arse, smooth riding truck. If I was in the market for another truck I would probably go in that direction. I just don't now if I could be comfortable going smaller. Although outside of bedroom there isn't a huge difference.

Maybe I worded that wrong. watch the video you will see.
But I agree with most here I wouldn't buy it if for no other reason than with it being a new design you don't know how it will do long term.

And it comes with other motors.... No v-6 option. The 4 cylinder turbo replaces it and it has more power

Mazda has developed such a thing. Can't wait to see it in real world.

Kinda like when Chevy made fun of Ford for the step on the tailgate then proceeded to put a step in the bumper serving the same thing

The Germans have been putting 4-banger turbos in all the midsize sedans (528i, A6, E-class) for the last generation and are not having to many problems. I realize it’s not a truck, but they are 4400+ pound vehicles. If done properly, you can get an assload of power out of a 4-cylinder....just look at modded Subaru boxer motors.

They all copy each other. I mean there's only so much that you can do with a truck. I just found that funny when I read it yesterday.
I do currently drive a F150 but I'm no brand loyalty guy. I just buy what I like at the time. I've owned Gmc, Ram, Nissan and Ford. I usually trade them in before they ever see 100k anyway.
