There's nothing wrong with aluminum body panels. I would much prefer aluminum body panels. They're lighter and they don't rust. I'm surprised it took this long for manufacturers start using them

It comes with a 2.7 liter turbo 4 cylinder engine.

Thoughts?

Complete and total shite.
No one wants a full size truck with a 4 banger, turbo or supercharged.

Having said that, you'd better brace for acceptance of this.

Our beloved 8 bangers will be essentially outlawed.

I had hopes that Trump would gut the EPA on CAFE standards. They're insane!!

It's replacing the 4.3L V6. So it will be primarily fleets anyway.

They have a new I-6 Duramax Diesel, a also a 6.2L V8 and 5.3L V8 to choose from.

Anybody remember the last time GM built diesels?

GM sells a lot of diesels in both trucks and smaller cars.

And before you throw a hissy fit about Opel sourced diesels....Opel was a GM brand for about 65 years, and DMAX has been an Isuzu-GM joint venture since 1999.

They make very solid Diesel engines.

i agree,i was just observing the blatant copying of ford by gm...all the while talking smack about them in the commercials.and for the record, 6.0 and 6.4 were not ford diesels however, the newer 6.7 is produced by ford and is badass.

If you have that kind of money, go with the Ram with 6cyl turbo diesel.

Mazda has developed such a thing. Can't wait to see it in real world.

Even Mazda, which is a good engine maker, has issues with brand new designs. The RX-8's rotary got better as time went on, and so did the first Skyactiv engine (the 2.0 that debuted in 2012). Judging from past history, I'd wait until the third model year of a brand new engine.
