There were alligator hunters on it, but their hunting was nothing like Swamp People. They'd just ease the gator up and pop it, no fight, no struggle, no yelling. That's probably closer to reality,

Because that is reality

I got drawn one year for 3 gator tags through LDWF lottery program to hunt them on public wildlife management areas. They made us sit through about a 30 minute class to go over the how-to, safety, and rules. One of the first things they told us was that its nothing like they show on Swamp People and that those guys agitate the gators so they'll thrash around for the cameras. In reality, you just pull the line up slow, gator's head comes up to the surface, and one shot with a 22 to the back of the neck. No drama, no fight, no splashing around. And all those claims of "1000 pound monster" by Swamp People's narrator are exaggerated by a few hundred pounds.

The gator population and bear population shows you outdated state regs are managing these populations in La

Please Please do not blame “ole green jeans” for doing the job that WE pay them to do.

Troy Landry is a POS, selfish, greedy horrible human being who cares about nothing but himself. Ask anyone in the Pierre Part/Belle River area including his own family!!!

This is not the first time he gets a ticket. Troy will hunt wherever and do whatever it takes to get the big Alligator for TV. He has been warned numerous times, now myself, the landowner and other alligator hunters have enough!!
Troy keeps a very sharp knife in his hand when raising the lines if it’s small (not good for TV) he cuts it off then “Awwwww T-Buddy” it got off with the hook and line in it’s mouth.
Support WLF Please!!
Do Not Support Troy Landry
Do Not go to Duffys
Do Not go to Hole in the Wall
Stay tuned for more about POS Troy Landry

So he had a license and tags but the tag wasn’t on the alligator? This is what we’re fricking with people over?

I don’t have a problem with WLF enforcement. I have a problem with the laws themselves.

I always like Troy until he started gating off canals on Lake Verret. He can kiss my arse now..

Nobody should be able to gate a canal that connects to a public waterway IMO...

Similar to the Ryan Warden thread. Let's do a stakeout and then bust someone for a minor infraction because we have nothing else. Similar to getting a ticket at 3 am for turning without a signal. Yes, it is against the law, but in practical terms, who cares.

Stupid there’s a need to tags alligators in a state with 3 million alligators (allegedly, probably more). It’s not like hunting alligators is very common in Louisiana anyways. It’s not something everyone is running out and doing like they’re fishing for sac a lait. Green jeans gotta feel important.

This kind of stuff is why the deer population is out of control.
In certain areas maybe. But Louisiana still has two areas where you can only shoot 3 deer

Every alligator hunter does that. When you only have a few tags you can't waste them on the small ones. It's not like there is a shortage of them.

We have way too many alligators. LDWF should issue each licensee 6 (or random number of) alligator tags, just like deer tags.

I can't even run my dog in the bayou by the camp because of them frickers and we can't legally shoot them because I can't get tags
