Once again for us river rats, it’s not the rain…it’s that freakin’ SE wind.

As close as that is, NO should be preparing like they will get the worst of the rain. It isn't an absurd amount of rain, but we all know what even a decent amount can do there.

We literally have thunderstorms that are worse than this. The majority of Louisiana will get rain, but 4-6 inches of 48-72 hours isn't out of the norm.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious.

And the Punta Cana comment that you were responding to is the longest running silly troll post in weather threads.

The good news is we're not looking at any RI or anything waiting on an EWRC

I expect some flooding issues in Alabama. A lot of places here have received several inches of rain in the last 10 days, so the ground is still pretty wet. Bands of heavy rain with this system could definitely cause issues for us if they set up over already relatively saturated areas.

Winds have swung around to NW at the Bay of Campeche buoy.

Maybe this thing can get in and out of here to salvage some decent weather for at least part of Sunday.

What?

Guess my insurance didn’t have to pay for Laura. Lucky me.

I hope this was sarcasm.

I let that one go. Choose your battles and if someone is stupid enough to make that statement, you’re never going to have a substantive conversation with them. The biggest thing I’ve learned throughout my insurance career is that everyone thinks they know how insurance works but less than 1% actually know even half of it.

It DOES alter the deductible situation for a lot of people. For a lot of policies, it can be pretty significant.

and the insurance companies love it that way. And the insurance commissioner is complicit.
