Tropical storms coming out of the BOC aren't all that unusual for this time of year.

By this time last year we had already experienced a landfalling tropical storm between the river and Grand Isle. June 7 Cristobal came ashore.

I worry because typically they hardly EVER get rain totals correct.

3" over 2 days could equate to 30"

Moving TS is more predictable than the very small scale feature that led to SEBR getting a foot of rain in a couple of hours.

I see why it'll move and it should be out of the way without pulling a stall and dumping feet of rain over a large area.

Since this is the weather thread right now, I will post this here. We can file it under "Things I've never seen before" and "Shot of a lifetime".

The bad part is that the clip is probably worth a good bit as far as licensing is concerned, but Weather Nation hit her up immediately, and now all they will get is their name on a screen.

I've tried to convert it to a gif, but haven't had any luck. Definitely worth the Twitter click.

That takes me from 10" of rain for the rest of the month to just under 2".

They could have made good money the traditional way. Too many people just give great weather videos away, and too many outlets just expect them to do it. At least they all actually ask now, though, they didn't used to even do that.
