Mick was an awesome dude and an even better mechanic.
We had a mountain bike team (Posse) and he would often ride with us.
Cat could flat out ride. he'd table top all kinds of crap and had amazing balance.
We bought all of our bikes (fully suspended GTs. Giants. diamondbacks, specialized etc.) as well as manitou and rock shoxs from Brent and never had any issues with him.
Good times.

What made it so great?

Neighborhood so large with so many people that was also connected to Lake at White Oak/White Oak Landing that all it took was a bike ride to hang out with all kinds of friends. Constant football games in the front yard, Nintendo battles, etc. Even the loser kids had to have had another loser friend close enough to walk/bike ride to. If you couldn't make friends in that neighborhood something was wrong with you
Yep. My friends and i spent every weekend in 9th grade rollerblading around the neighborhood, stopping to hang out with people on almost every block. There was a mix of kids who went to public and private school so we met lots of new people. It was a great area to grow up.

Idk, if he had the mental faculties to try to frame it as being an intruder, it makes me wonder if it was a simple psychotic break. I wonder if he had life insurance on either of them.

So many nice neighborhoods gone down. When I was a kid living in BR, schools were good, homes affordable, neighborhoods good. I was in town last year in Central where family now lives and drove down Old Hammond Hwy (I think) and it looked like a 3rd world country around South Sherwood Forrest all the way down. Sad.

Looks like he hung himself in prison.
What a terribly written sentence:

Brent DeLoach, 63, was found unresponsive and alone in his cell Thursday morning with a blanket around his neck by prison officials, said the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office in a news release Friday night.

There was a murder in that big house on wood lake probably a quarter mile from S Harrels Ferry road years ago. House on the lake just up the street on monitor in white oak landing had a daughter put a hit put on her parents but was unsuccessful many years ago. Domestic stuff is a different animal
Yep. I grew up in white oak and remembered the numerous cops at that big house on wood lake after that murder. Also remember the attempted hit put on the owner of that other house further up on wood lake. My parents kind of knew those people but not very well. Domestic shite is a different animal. Can and does happen anywhere. That part of Shenandoah has been bad for a long time though, as far back as when I still lived in white oak really.

No wonder this happened.
—TEAR DOWN THE STREET SIGNS and we’ll have racial harmony. Uh huh.

When did Shenandoah become gangster Sad what areas in Baton Rouge are becoming crime ridden these days
I love the posters coming in behind this saying "this is domestic, it's different". Sure, domestic is different, but let's not act like Baton Rouge isn't a complete shite hole. Face it, that city is in line with Jackson and Detroit.
