Tried to sell my golf cart, someone tries to punk me? *Updated with Email*

This past weekend, I've been trying to sell my old golf cart on Craigslist to make some space in my garage. I list it at night, and within an hour I get a long email from this guy wanting to buy it. He says he is very old and it's always been his dream to own one and just a bunch of unnecessary info.

I don't check my email for about ten minutes, and in that time he emails me 6 more times asking if I still have it. I make a deal to sell it to him cheap, but suddenly he can't pick it up and his "son" has to. I'm starting to think this is just some kid that is pretending to be an old guy for a pity price maybe? But I say whatever because I get to get the cart out of my garage, so I don't care.

I give him my phone number and wait all day for his call. He never calls me. At the end of the day I shoot him an email to see if he still wants it.

Checking my email this morning, i get and email from his "wife" claiming he had a heart attack and died. It's a long one and talks about his dreams for this little golf cart and how embarrassed she is to be emailing me.

Wtf? Is this real? Why go through the trouble of making this shite up?

I know it is very early, and I'm not sure who this message is going to, but my Husband suffered a massive heart attack yesterday just before breakfast, and my children and I have been here there with him all last night, and this morning at St. Thomas. I just returned home, and wanted to notify you of such. He was so very excited about the little cart. Bless your heart for offering to do that for him.
