I understand the safety aspect of it, but I do somewhat miss trick or treating after dark. When I was a kid in the dark ages of the 80s, we didn’t leave to go until dark. You knew if a house had candy if they left the porch light on. Now, it’s about done by dark. Got like three kids after dusk.

We had probably 50-75 kids come by. Bought way too much candy though. Wife and In-Laws took our two trick-or-treating.. I stayed behind to pass out the candy, drink beer, and watch the Saints game.

About 25 visits. I don’t care for candy and my car is currently parked at one of my best friend’s house, so yeah going to piss them off tomorrow when I pick it up to give the remaining to their kids.

Our little village had its second annual Trunk or Treat Saturday. Campers and vehicles lined the road through our local park and gave out candy. Huge turn out.

Had a fun jump, kids playing tug of war, throwing footballs and playing on the playground equipment. Fire department had two trucks handing out candy. Police had traffic in the park stopped. DJ was playing music. Campers were cooking. Families spending time with their kids.

It was a great evening!

And +2 for the Southdowners who waited until DARK to head out. Maybe 3 small groups around 6pm, then as soon as it got dark... here they came.

It was a good night, especially given that Hyacinth is ripped up.

Between 400 and 600 kids easy. We gave away about 1000 pieces of candy!

Are you from the United States? Bc from around here we don’t call them villages, which I’m assuming you mean your town or hood. I think it’s pretty funny tho!!

I quit doing it a few years ago.. I would buy about $25 worth of the good stuff.. First year I handed about 2/3 of the candy. The next two years it died out significantly. People at work benefitted from my candy.

I didn't have a single kid come to the house. Low key kinda upset. Got the good candy and all.

Had just a handful. But a few houses on both sides have kids and they didn’t give out candy/were out. A bit of a bummer because I have an absurd amount of candy. It’s all good though. I’m taking it into work for the high school kids.

I’m sure part of it too was that the neighborhood incorporated had two big trunk/treat deals at two local churches this weekend and the business corridor had their deal yesterday.

We don’t get any trick or treaters on our street, so we went to my in-laws’ huge neighborhood. It was like Halloween in the movies. Tons of houses decorated, more kids and families walking around (or traveling on golf carts) than I’ve ever seen. It was great.

We all go to my sisters neighborhood because they all dress up and walk around. We usually have 6 to 8 of us that stay back and pass out candy sitting on the driveway. It is fun and very nostalgic. Fairly large neighborhood but on the absolute country edge of the subutbs.

This is the worst year I’ve had in over a decade. 1/3 of the usual partakers.

The exact opposite this year in my neighborhood. I ran out of candy right around 8pm as a couple of cars pulled up full of trick-or-treaters.

From what I understand from neighbors with kids, most of the houses in the greater neighborhood area weren't doing anything. Our street was rocking though.

Huge turnout. Most kids I've seen in the neighborhood since I moved in five years ago.

It was about 1/3 to 1/2 from 2017-2019. Still decent enough to be a good time and worth setting up.

Biggest crowd in at least 5 years. 75% not from our neighborhood. Tons and tons of kids under age 5. It was a lot of fun! Ran out of candy.

Texas
Over 100 kids
Halloween is big for us. We build out a haunted house and usually host 30-40 people for pre trick or treating

Double the amount we had last year and probably 10% less than what we had in 2019.

With that said, the best costume of the night was a teenager dressed as joe Biden with a depends diaper on the outside of his suit pants.
