51 out of 71 killed - pilot had mental health issues, had resigned but was required to continue working "until discharged." Multiple cockpit warnings as they have a very unstable approach. Plane damn near hits the control tower.

The crew ignored all sorts of warnings, and took quite a while to realize the gear was not down.

"When we analyzed the conversation on the Cockpit Voice Recorder, it was clear to us that the captain was harbouring severe mental stress. He also seemed to be fatigued and tired due to lack of sleep — he was crying on several occasions."

Flew Tiger Air several times between Singapore and Thailand. It's amazing I didn't die.

People smoking on the flight, most of the seats didn't match or were in shambles, saw 2 ladies get into a slapping match.

Good times, but NFW would I fly that airline again (now that we have kiddos).

I can't stand "transition" periods in these sort of professions. Military, political, aviation, etc. When someone says they're done, they're done.

Not surprised it's in Asia, but frick man. If someone's done let them go.

So what happened after landing?

It looks like the plane landed then there is some sort of explosion.

And the concern about the pilot hiding that he used tobacco, and that he may have been smoking in the cockpit.

Towards the end, when there's a shed in the foreground, I thought I saw the plane land and pivot around 180 before the flames enveloped it.

Some guys on the ground were worried; others didn't seem to think it involved them

He was off the runway and his approach was less than acceptable.

Wow, I spent 6 months there on a deployment/tdy and flew various times on those airlines. I can tell you first hand. Crazy experience riding in those aircraft. Most of the flying is done line of sight.

I have a strange obsession with TheFlightChannel (AKA MyFlightChannel) on youtube. This channel does some really great airline incident recreations using the most current flight simulator software available.

Here's the one for Bangla Flight 211: Fatal Confusion in the Cockpit Led to this Plane Crash Horror.
