It cost $450,000 a year for the treatment. BUT after discounts, it will only be $345,000 a year.

Unfortunately, the patients who have this disease have to receive treatment for the rest of their lives.

About 20,000 to 30,000 people around the world have this condition, its called hereditary transthyretin-mediated amyloidosis, or hATTR.

I would be all for the government setting a cap on how much a company can charge for a drug. Charging that much is just evil.

That pricepoint can't possibly be the highest possible revenue generating price, not sure I get why it would be that price for a yearly necessary drug.

Government over regulation is the reason healthcare rates are sky rocketing. You want to keep doing what caused the problem? If you set a price cap it might not be worthwhile for anybody to produce the drug.

Economics 101 should be a mandatory course for all college students regardless of your major.

And limiting the profit motive to develop new drugs and treatments is just stupid.

That’s actually a hell of a discount.

How else is the rest of the world going to get their drugs if Americans are not over-paying?

With prices like that not many normal everyday people can afford it. I’m all about capitalism but when it comes to healthcare a line needs to be drawn.
