Pharma has gutted R&D over last 10-15 years.

PhD synthetic chemists used to have several offers at graduation. Nowadays with R&D cuts they're lucky to get a 50k post doc.

Pharma has shifted towards spending on marketing and shite like that.

If only three people can afford it, it won't pay back RandD costs. But if it fails, it will because not enough people took it.

I have to wonder how long the development tests lasted and who the chosen ones were.
