Traveling with friends can be hard

It's wild how good of a friend you can be with someone on the day to day but go on an extended trip and see who they really are. Same for rooming with friends.
Ever lost a friendship or basically became aquaitances after a trip?
I have 1 situation like that.

Even the sweetest couples can experience difficulties with van life.

Roommate situations like that happen all the time.

Men need their own space. Two men in one area for more than just a day or so creates a tension.

Are you a home schooled 11 year old?

We used to do a big beach trip with a couple other couples.
Two years ago was the last time with all the drama and complaining. We still do it but it’s with only a few other couples. I don’t have time for all the childish drama anymore.

We did the beach with a couple we are still very close with, but will not travel that way with again.
No drama at all. There’s just a vast difference in the lifestyle of a couple without kids with flexible jobs versus a couple with kids and 7am jobs.

Sounds like they weren't into the lifestyle.

Yep, did that once, never again.

Nothing worse IMO. I’m a selfish a-hole so travel with people that may not have my best interest in mind is a no go.

I had to double check to make sure this wasn’t an Oweo thread.

would never do that for anything other than a business trip. If couples are involved, can do the same vacation, but travel to and from the general destination separately and don't have any strict time schedule. Basically just be on the same vacation/location at the same time as each other.

Nope. Get better friends.

It definitely requires groups with very similar interests, vibes, and lifestyles. It can be a lot of fun, but I've definitely had a few bad experiences.

You don't really know someone well enough to consider them a friend if you haven't been on a trip or been in close quarters for an extended period with them. It's also usually not the men that end up being the problem in those situations.
If they are actually your friend you have already had plenty of conflict with them and still spend time around each other despite your differences. How you deal with conflict is more of a measure of friendship than good times.

Would never do group travel, friends or not. Just me and the wife is perfectly fine.

OP ain't lying. I can hang with friends all day here but going on a trip with them anywhere regardless of it's with one person or several is a pain in the arse.
Family is different though.

I never realized how much I hate my friends til I actually traveled with them.
I can handle them in small doses, like 2-3 hours one night every week or so, but actually being around them 24/7 makes me want to kill them.
