I'm not going to any airport today either. Traffic should be pretty good.

People that choose to live somewhere Baton Rouge and New Orleans are the only options for airports :eyeroll:

Construction?
The old terminal access still functions wonderfully
The problem is gonna be in 6 months when new terminal opens

Take the Boute exit and go up Airline is the best route as of now or at least until they open the new terminal.

with all of the navigation apps that guide you on the best route, why do questions like this still pop up all the time?

Still operating out of old terminal, so no changes to the route.
Just plan a little extra time to get to the airport. The traffic at the airport is brutal with the way the light systems work. And if you run into a rush, the security lines do not handle the extra flow very well.
If pre-TSA and no checked baggage, proceed as usual.

If it even opens in 6 months..
To answer the OP's question, the construction isn't messing up traffic for the current terminal.

Your biggest deal with "construction" will be the widening of I-10 from Highland Road southwards.
As other posters have noted, there is currently no issue with new terminal construction or new terminal access road construction affecting current travel routes.
And if you are coming from Baton Rouge, it's about 50/50 as to whether it's faster/easier to exit Williams Blvd. south bound, take a right on Veterans Blvd., and then a left onto the airport access road or whether you take the 310 to Airline and then east to the terminal. If it is more of a rush hour time frame, 310 would probably be quicker; if not, Williams to Vets to Access road would be.
