Age 9-12 should be intense training and skills development at all positions, at age 13 start the competition…weed kids out, select the best and see how well you compete at a dedicated position.

6-8 should just be having fun and trying to build a love for the sport.

tryouts are just so coaches can see the better kids and kind of disperse them. correct me if im wrong.

Some team groups do this, others do not. The ones i'm referring to are the ones that stack.

I'd be ok with this. That is not how Traction operates. I despise that place.

FTR, my kids ended up on some good teams from like minded parents. We aren't the best, but our kids have fun and are improving. I'm excited to see how they progress for 9U, but i hear that kids pitch is like watching paint dry.

all schools in middle of no where

most of the ND kids play travel, same with Eunice. dunno about the others.

no you dont because there isnt a single one going to barbe that just played rec. and pony is an org, what age group are you talking about? if you are talking 13, bullshite. unless they are going to 8th grade and that doesnt mean they will make the team. them saying they are going is not the same as them going.

you can go find Barbes list of incoming freshman and see what teams they played for.

They have a USSSA world series merchandise store. I don’t know if there can be any more proof, that travel ball has less to do with player development and more to do with separating parents from their money.

How is this different or worse than racking up fortnight charges or dropping $1k of fifa packs?

you can do this 100% but you are going to either have to be stupid knowledgable (can be done with the internet) and work with them pretty much 3 times a week year around. or you are going to have to spend a fortune in private lessons.

problem is a lot fo the travel ball kids are doing this too. but it absolutely can be done. Nobody does it though

i personally think 5/6 let them enjoy tball, have fun as hell. work fundamentals

7/8 for most kids, just get a little more serious but nothing major. some kids are going to want to really start training here and some are not going to want to do anything but play games. huge swing here.

My son was full year around in one sport at 9-10, when rec rolled back around he was way too good to be in that league. I thought parents were going to fight us.

My son asked the ref if he could shoot it in off of the kickoff, ref said, I don’t think you can…well he shot it in and their sideline went bizerk. No one knew the rules anyway, but they gave him the goal.

You apparently have a reading comprehension problem
You said the best kids play just travel and I just stated that wasn’t true and I know for a fact
Also you apparently have never been in the middle of nowhere if you thin Crowley and Eunice are that

Where did i say they just play rec ? The kids I’m talking about played both rec and travel through 12u. Are you this dumb? My whole premise which you apparently are too stupid to understand is that shitting on the rec leagues is fricking stupid when I know multiple towns where the best kids play both

and i said...sure in the little bitty towns. i mentioned in abotu 50 post that...i was talking about in the metro areas where it is highly competitive. are you that dumb?

and i shite on the rec leagues because i have been coaching them the last 8 years. even in 12u where alot of kids come back....it is no better than AA ball, which is shitty ball.

IM not shitting on rec just to do it. im doing it cause the leagues as a whole suck arse in louisiana with rare exceptions.

but cool you got 10 good kids to play in the league....the rest of the league sucks and you would be much better off from a developmental view taking the top 10-11 kids and going to play high level travel ball so they see better competition the whole time.

Y’all think the travel ball situation is bad now? The travel ball organizations have been partnering up with the high schools. Just wait and see where that goes.

Well since these kids are the core units of strong baseball programs I think they are doing just fine

You are not some kind of expert on this. I love how you are trying to tell me what I know about my friend’s kids and other kids I know from these towns especially when some of the parents played higher level baseball than you could ever dream of
