Travel ball is not a job. Your kid will probably end up hating you for making him do it through his teens, major in something that has absolutely nothing to do with sports and keep your grandchildren away from it.

I agree some parents go overboard with it. My sons only have 2 bats at any given time. And I try to keep them under $400. There definitely should be some kind of tax credit, even it’s just to claim 1 bat per kid per year or something like that.

The $200 an hour baseball coach told me Jaxalin has the best swing he’s ever seen on a 7 year old. It can be pro level with 3 days a week training for the next 11 years.

Especially since in today’s world if you have an athletic kid, it’s pretty much required that he/she play travel ball. When I think about the money I spend on bats and gloved and everything else it’s sickening.

I mean you’d be buying that if he was in rec ball too

Not to the same extent. Travel ball is definitely more demanding and costly.

Stop buying the latest and greatest shite. I just bought mine a brand new composite bat for $90 because it was 2023 model. Same bat was $350 when it came out 2 years ago.

you already get a federal tax deduction for dependents, next case!!

Maybe for the poors, but not for everyone. That is phased out at 200/400.

That’s kind of greedy, it’s kids man. I hope Trump pushes for tax credits of some sort for travel ball.

This is a troll thread.

should the money I spend on my hobbies, indulgences, and frivolous spending be tax deductible?

man...Im starting to think everybody's hobbies are really important....maybe we should just get rid of the illegal mother fricking income tax to begin with, let everyone choose what they spend their money on?
