I just can’t see why anyone would be against this. It would be my own tax money being given back to me. This wouldn’t be a “freeloader” situation. Add in that it’s for kids and it should be a no brainer.

My sons only have 2 bats at any given time. And I try to keep them under $400. There definitely should be some kind of tax credit, even it’s just to claim 1 bat per kid per year or something like that.

This can’t be serious. I remember cracking a bat as a kid, putting a screw in it and taping it up. Braxton isn’t going to be a pro player, just deal with it.

Spend all that money so they can get beat by a Dominican kid who hits tennis balls with mop brooms?

Wut? Why should we subsidize your hobbies and retarded financial decisions?

I should be able to deduct my hiking trips and cycling equipment under your retard logic. I suspect you would be against that being allowed, no?

Wut? No. Personal expenses and hobbies are not deductible.

Yes it is. You are asking for society to subsidize your hobbies.

Trump considered travel ball expenses when increasing the standard deduction.

should the money I spend on my hobbies, indulgences, and frivolous spending be tax deductible?

Yes,. I like collecting wine. Travel is one of my hobbies. Let's all deduct that. Some of y'all hunt and fish. Let's deduct that as well.

Especially since in today’s world if you have an athletic kid, it’s pretty much required that he/she play travel ball. When I think about the money I spend on bats and gloved and everything else it’s sickening. Also, making travel ball equipment tax deductible could allow for some parents who were on the borderline financially to be able to put their kids into travel. Just a thought, what do you guys think?

Guarantee your kid is on a team that fundraises so that others can pay for your vacations

This year it’s Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge! I hear the fields are great! But that’s beside the point. We need travel ball tax credits!

Yeah that’s why I’d really appreciate it being tax deductible.

My son plays travel ball but Joe down the street should not be subsidizing a hobby. Luckily my son is happy with last years bats you can get for 100 bucks in some instances. He is a catcher so that shite gets expensive but you gotta watch for good sales and buy the next size up to save some money when they hit a growth spurt.

I think we should be making moves to limit and discourage the growth of "travel ball", not growing it in any way.
