So we shouldn’t beat up him and his whole family?

No we should beat them up. Many of injured kids go to the plate for the same reason over the years. You go up there and hope for the best (Walk/HBP). You do not squat like that at all, was a dumb arse move

Like I said 4 straight down the middle, ump called the strike zone on the batter which there isn’t one and we lost on a walk. You’re right it is a strike and good for the ump to call it verse knee to belt or letters.

it's been a looooonnnnng time since I've umped but I believe the zone is is established when the batter is set in the box, doesn't matter if he does the worm while the pitch is being deliverd(as long as he stays in the batter's box of course )

Not a batting glove, sweat band, or gold chain in site...No travel ball coach worth his salt would give this kid a second look.

That batter kid will get much more bad parenting and advice and end up Flat Earther Baw on OT.

Faster than he gets his 1st good haircut.

As short as that kid at bat is, it would have been a ball (high) had he remained standing next to the plate.

I had to watch it a couple of times to see, but I'd say it was just at the upper end of his normal strike zone.

Of course, any possible benefit of the doubt the hitter would get otherwise gets thrown out the window with the crap he was pulling there, and anything that pitcher threw that looked like it was coming over the plate at any reasonable height was rightfully getting called a strike.

he just leisurely throws it right down the middle to get the easy strike

Maybe, but after coaching 20 years in Dixie Youth, I found very few pitchers can "Leisurely" throw a strike.

The official strike zone is based on your natural stance…..the umpire has to use judgment on a case like this.

I had one of the coaches for my kids team tell the kids that walks are a good thing during kid pitch. He actually wanted the kids to stand there because he new the pitcher would never throw 3 strikes to a batter. I almost came unglued. I told my kid in front of him that he could walk home if he stood there and didn’t swing at strikes. Of course it’s the one coach on the team that they have run the dugout because he’s a fricking band kid who can’t even catch a ball at practice.
