Traffic pet peeve

Does this ever happened to you? Seems to happen to me on a daily basis and it drives me nuts.
You are driving 77 with the cruise on in the left lane and slowly gaining on a slower traveling vehicle that is also in the left lane. The other driver finally moves to the right lane for you but then speeds up as he does so. Now you’re more or less going the same speed, only with you now in his blind spot.
Do people not even realize that they are speeding up? Is there some sort of psychological defense against having someone else pass you?

I had a guy get pissed at me because every time he’d get over to let me by he’d speed up. Must have happened 3 or 4 times. I had my cruise on the whole time and he was flipping out thinking I was the one doing it.

A lot of times I’ll be in the right lane with the cruise and 75 and idiots in the left lane who don’t know how to cruise speed up and slow down so either you have to pass them or they fall back in the left lane and have to pass you again.

When I’m merging onto the interstate with a car doing the same behind me and they gas it and try and pass me before the merge lane ends burns my arse up for some reason

Every time I encounter the QB of a team LSU is set to play, the bastard is driving 5 miles under the speed limit in the left lane with his right blinker on.

A lot of times it's morons on their cell phone. They just lock on to the speed of cars around them since they don't have any brain capacity left for actual driving. But they want to drive slightly faster than traffic. When they get in front they have no reference anymore and slow down. I use cruise control and have had people pass me multiple times and then slow down. It is maddening.
A subset of this is the cell phone talkers who drive side-by-side with the car in the other lane. For miles.

Yep. Happens all the time.
ETA: I also spend a lot of time rolling comfortably in the right lane, where that should happen. You'd be surprised how many times people will pass me on a relatively empty freeway, get in front of me, then go slower than me.
Usually truck drivers.
