And that's before the dealer adds on $7,000 worth of bullshite options that only cost them $400.

Jesus.
My 2017 TRD Pro was $45,000

All of that for a turbo 4 banger

I think my 2016 limited was $46k sticker and got it for $43k, if I remember correctly.

Yukon > 4Runner
I know, because I own a 2017 4Runner and a 2023 Yukon.
Last gen 4Runners were only good, because they were essentially running ancient technology. The MPG was crap, ride was crap, dash and radio were crap, seats were crap, etc. The pro for them was lack of issues. These new ones have introduced all the fallacies of technology, and will suffer the same fate as many others.
The Yukon is superior in every way. Twice the power and better mpg, comfort is light years better

I have a 2019 4Runner too. Don't you think it's completely silly that we don't have a button to open our trunks and that our entertainment system screen looks like it's from 2005?
Otherwise I love my car
Honest answer? No, I don't view those things as must-haves and prefer to go without all the modern do-dads. Eventually I'll upgrade the headunit to a more modern one with a modest screen size with CarPlay but don't care for all the big bulky screens, power lift gates, added sensors and things like that.

Yeah I’m ready for the pendulum to swing back the other way on the billion extras all vehicles seem to have to come standard with

I’m actually surprised at the cost.
I’m thinking that Toyota figured out that they were gonna price themselves out of selling cars.
Still high but i was honestly expecting to see an $80,000 sticker on the limited

Same. I have a 2018 Tundra with 180K miles. I don't plan on ever getting rid of it. At some point I'll have to get a different daily driver, but I don't want all the gadgets and bells and whistles.

Can’t speak on the rest but the Yukons ride like butter

Can you even get a trd pro if you want one?
Posted on 12/10/24 at 11:13 am to YOURADHERE
An above average SUV for $40K? In 2025? That's much lower than I was expecting.

As the driver of a 2005 vehicle, I will go Unabomber and say I hate modern screens and enjoy my old one. Once I hacked in Android Auto I was set.
My car is getting older but the more I think about it, the more I don't want to give it up for a more modern car. Naturally aspirated V6 with over 300 hp. Real buttons and gauges. Don't have to deal with massive screens for no practical reason.
I also think screens controlling things like AC and volume etc. i.e. no buttons is a dealbreaker, can't stand the idea of not having buttons and if the screen craps out you can't control anything

I have a 2019 as well. I could give a fig about a button to open my trunk.
I did replace the entertainment system with this. Took literally 45 minutes and is a huge upgrade. Has CarPlay, but also has a ton of other apps, like YouTube TV, etc.

I don't really need the apps, I just hate that there is this ugly old clunky screen in my face. I'd honestly prefer a minimalist radio/bluetooth/cd player setup than what the 2019 4runner has

Every 10 years I get a brand new White Tacoma.
I get all the bells and whistles, loaded TRD 4WD...
My vehicles are in mint condition. I keep the interior & exterior immaculately clean.
Every time, a friend ends up buying it.
We do a buy in-buy out at the dealership and I pay cash for the balance.
2003 - 2014 cash out of pocket 17K
2014 - 2025 cash estimated out of pocket 53K (estimating tax,title lic at 70K)
just the vehicle cost of ownership $3,200 / year
Not bad in my book.
