I never ever buy or rent anything based on pictures on the internet from a website set up by the seller of that product. You're functionally retarded if you do that.

In the simplest terms, Here are some advertisements for you to consider:

You have to be an absolute moron not to research the shite out of something before you buy or rent it.

well not with someone named "Mightyyat". you'll never understand the criticism. Its the "my baby a good baby" mentality you see in the mothers of the accused. Their love of their own blinds them to the possibility that something could be wrong.

Let's hear the debate that NOLA is not a top food city and there are better cities, top to bottom, foodwise in Louisiana.

Were there no murders in the quarter last weekend? If an armed robbery was the only thing that happened I would consider it a successful culcha-ral weekend.

Edit: Or would that be a culcha-less weekend?

well just the other day I wanted James Beard winning Israeli food. Unfortunately, Shaya hasn't been cutting it for me so I headed over to Boutte where the offerings are much better. Problem solved.

Wtf?

We're strictly talking food the last few pages. No one is saying the city doesn't have a crime problem. I don't even think you know what you're trying to argue at this point.

I really really wanted to try the latest in molecular gastronomy. So I headed down to Plaquemine and had the most delightful tasting menu I've had in a long time.

Uhhhhhh, that would've been the Fischer Projects. That was a rough arse hood in the mid 90s.

Thought so. His "double take" was genuine when he just overheard us talking about walking it the night before.

But again, all they'd have gotten was some dirty assed Doc Martens and 13 dollars in ones off of me at 2am in 1995. Hell I didn't even have a real debit card yet, just a "cash card" with a few bucks in it. They may have shot us out of anger, or at least plugged my hippy assed friend for being a hippy.

yes, yes i do. But you do realize that La. seafood and NOLA creole cuisine is what most tourists think of when they think NOLA, right?

In those projects they wouldn't care how much money they would have gotten off of you. They would have done it to do it, and if they got 2 bucks for a crack rock it would have been worth it.

That was an extremely bad neighborhood.

Ok. And?

Many tourists think about deep dish pizza in Chicago. That doesn't make Alinea or The Girl and the Goat not exist.

They think of a New York slice of pizza or italian food in NYC. That doesn't make Eleven Madison Park or Le Bernadin disappear.

Tourists don't do anything to get a food city labeled as being elite though so I'm not sure what you're getting at here.

Personally, I think New Orleans separates itself from the other, second-tier food towns (Austin, Boston, Portland, Charleston, etc.).

New Orleans, for how small of a town it is, puts out some incredible, unique food. The classic restaurants of Emeril, Prudhomme (RIP) are always a treat as are the "new blood" of Link, Besh, Spicer (and many others). New Orleans is an authentic culinary destination that is in good hands.

Not a fan of Emeril's Delmonico on St. Charles? It's classic New Orleans cuisine.

That's why you could get a room pretty close to Mardi Gras for a reasonable rate.

Took us 3 Mardi Gras to finally get into The Quarter.

What parts of The Quarter are sketchy now, that weren't say 5 years ago?

I mean I've always known to stay away from North Rampart unless going for a specific reason, and never after dark. When Canal starts to look sketchy, it's sketchy. Get back into the quarter and get in a bar. Cross streets and alleys down around the market were spotty at times. More so then for homeless turds than gangster turds though.

We basically stayed one block east of Canal and south of Bourbon until the market area. Then only as far west on Bourbon until you hit gay pride flags and bubble machines. St. Phillip I believe.
