The short version of the SPC risk level thread was this.

It used to be slight, moderate, high with corresponding tornado risks of (5%, 15%, 30%). Emergency managers would ask them on slight days if it was normal slight or "enhanced" slight (10%) since that is a big difference in risk.

So the SPC made the Enhanced for those 10% days, but that fricks with the step size. As it now goes up 5%, 10%, 15%, 30% from levels 2 to 5.

Then you have the fact "enhanced" sounds worse than "moderate" and that moderate means 4/5 instead of the middle.

Link?

Ah hell, I'm terrible at linking Twitter. Let me go see if I can find it again. Levi retweeted it.

Patrick Marsh was the guy talking about it. I don't know how to do the direct Twitter links, though.

The ripe area should be in Alabama and Miss.

Yeah these areas are going to keep heating up over the next 10-15 hours and then the front slams into unstable gulf air. Parts of GA too.

YouTube and dive in. I posted a good multi part documentary from NWS Huntsville that was really good.
James Spann has their entire coverage from that day on YouTube. There are countless documentaries about it. There are some coverage from North AL there, as well.

LegendInMyMind, I highly doubt you would have the wherewithal nor the balls to say that to dukkev’s face.

You don't know me. But, then again, with his otherworldly powers to completely dicker shite without intention, I would likely regret it.

A moderate risk is very significant, so no one in the moderate risk should let their guard down.

I agree, and I wasn't implying that anyone should let their guard down. I was replying to the guy that said this is being hyped as the next April 27. I pointed out the difference in wording from the SPC. I wasn't downplaying anything.

There's a good book on it called What Stands In A Storm, I listened to the audiobook version from the Google Play store.

I've already explained this to you once. The atmosphere over MS and AL IS NOT YET RIPE for discrete supercells. That comes later this afternoon/evening/tonight. Also, don't discount the tornado producing abilities of the squall line.

It might get that way in Alabama but where I’m at it won’t. It’s 65 degrees and looking at radar it’s almost gone except the squall line by Monroe

I’m just talking about my area in the Ms delta it seems to be pretty mild
