Yea my wife made me wait to tell everyone until we were through the first trimester, that literally killed me because the first thing I wanted to do was call my dad and mom and let them know. The only person I told was my boss to let him know I wanted to make all the appointments that I could and he is a family first before work so I knew that wouldn't be a problem.

My dad and mom were overjoyed, her parents were a little subdued but I think they were in shock considering this would be my in-laws first grandchild and my parents had been through the rodeo before with my brother. My dad got a little emotional when we told him it was a boy and we were naming him my grandfathers name. My brother has two daughters so he was happy to get a grandson.

First one, random day in August 2014, I was beyond excited because we had been trying for several months.

Second one, December 26, 2016, 11:47 AM, "Are you fricking serious", as my 2 year old headbutted me in the nuts.

Yeah, that part sucked. The first people we told were our bosses, then her parents, then our friends.

Our friends already had figured it out though because my wife was drinking water on NYE, lol

My wife surprised me with the news and I was speechless and smiling like an idiot.

I was trying to think of something sweet and profound to say and all I came up with was, "How do you know?"

First one was , but let me sit down for a minute and process.

Second one was let me lay down on the couch for a few minutes do some calculations on how this could have happened.

Now, everyday I wake up and kiss them goodbye and it's as they are the best things that have ever happened to me in my life.

my dad's words of advice,
"the commitment to marriage is one thing, the commitment to being a father is the true test of being a man"...

congrats BTW

in less than 9 months your life is going change more than you know

you will be doing things that you swore you would never do and things that you love now will seem absolutely meaningless and not worth the time

My wife took 4 different brands of pregnancy test and showed them all to me. I said something along the lines of "well I guess we covered that margin for error"

go ahead and get your rest now because it will be hard to come by for a few months after they are born. Don't buy a lot of stuff right off the bat because you will get most of what you need at baby showers. My wife's work threw one and I nearly had a mild panic attack when unloading the car trying to figure out where the hell we were going to put all of this stuff.

I would also put a parental block up on zulilly that you have the only password for because that stuff starts adding up quick
