I was happy because we had been trying for a little bit. Wife told me first thing in the morning before I got up to go to work, then driving to work all the irrational stuff hit, like do we make enough money, am I going to be a good dad, what if there is a problem with the pregnancy. Then you figure out that you can't control everything so you are back to being happy.

I was extremely happy, then almost immediately was like "holy shite."
Now that my daughter is 9 months, it's still mostly extremely happy. Thinking about paying for her wedding gets me back to "holy shite" every now and then.

I thought it would take some time. I knocked up my wife on the first nasty without birth control
Found out yesterday on my 34th hour without sleep. I have to admit my initial reaction was no different than my reaction to reading the weather but I think it's because I was in shock and exhausted

I'm with you. I didn't really feel much different when we found out. I think it really hit me around the 20 week ultrasound when that blob actually starts to look like a baby.
