drop to 0.8-1% in Baton Rouge area.

That’s what mine is in St George. 2020 was .42%. Just renewed at .94%. No increase this year with Gulf States.

4500 per year, House around 480K, St. Charles Parish. Was 2500 prior to Ida. We got hit hard over here.

Insurance co folded after Ida then I got a letter that my premium was going to be 12,500 per year. My agent was lazy so I fired him and found my own for the 4500. That was the absolute lowest I could find at the time.

At what point do the paid off bros put that money into an investment account instead of insurance?

You must have bare bones and no contents covered or high arse deductible.

You think your landlord just eats all of the expenses without calculating them into your rent?

Mine went up to $6800 this year. I got my agent to go looking for another company. Found 1 company and it was $3500.

I'd be highly suspicious of the details and coverages. Make sure the coverages and deductibles are similar to the same. A lot of people chase a couple thousand savings on a premium and put their self in a bind when it comes time for a claim.

Do those quotes include flood insurance and /or interior stuff (a well equipped wood working shop, silver tableware, paintings, solid wood furniture, all sorts of hobby stuff?)

I have similar stats to the OP, 300k contents, 1% deductible, 2% for hurricane. I have zero idea if that is good.

Coverage near $400k, replacement costs, can’t remember named storm deductible (2 or 5% I think) and we pay $4050. Went up only $43 from last year.

It’s still a lot but I breathed a sigh of relief here in vermilion parish when our renewal came in.
