lol, yea of course... you guys would never flood in a million years...

My backyard floods during periods of heavy rain but it hasn't made it into the house yet. Nothing like 10 feet of storm surge coming at me.

I should make an amendment on the hurricane, the winds from Katrina did make it up here and damaged my roof. Got a free roof then my rates went up.

That's about the lowest you'll get. I am lucky and recently was able to switch to USAA. Saved me 20% for next year and it is much better coverage.

Get your head out of your arse, I don't think I'm superior about anything and your post doesn't make any sense.

Pretty much the exact same as you, ~400k house, ~$2,700/year.

It's very low compared to what my friends in other areas pay, I have a buddy who has a similarly priced house but he's paying around $4,300/year.

Just got renewal quote for $5700, up $1600 from last year (which was up $1200 from the year before). In St. George, I have had zero claims in the 15 years I’ve lived there. frick this shite. Been with SafeCo, guess I’ll be shopping around.

$1970, 2400sq ft, 500k liability, for 240k. House is worth 2x that much so if it burns down I’m screwed.

I'm paying $5,700 per year including wind/hail and storm policy, no flood insurance, in Slidell. House is ~1,900 sq ft and ~$230,000. Roof replaced after Ida with 30 year architectural.

Feeling like I'm getting the shaft seeing the numbers in this thread.

If it were 1924 and they really needed his business maybe they would pitch in to reduce their risk, with a long term policy contract. But in 2024 they couldn’t care less if he’s with them or not. They’ve got as many policies in force as they want. Out here in Florida I could literally only find 2 companies willing to insure my 2000 sf, $400k house. And one is the state run insurance of last resort, Citizens. I chose them because policy is $3800 vs the $9,500 that Universal was wanting me to pay. The house is fine, it’s just 2 miles from the gulf.
