As the OP pointed out; to each their own.

I like nice weather and outdoor activities like climbing, skiing, and biking therefore I am drawn to states that offer that

Favorites
Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Utah, and California

Least
The entire midwest followed closely by the south

The only redeeming quality about orange beach/gulf shores is The Florabama and I try to stay on the Florida side

I'll say this about Louisiana, I know a lot of people who live there give it a lot of shite, but the few times I've been there I never once had a bad experience.

Maybe it's different if you live there.

The ones I have visited:

Best:

Cali
Idaho
Colorado
Gulf coast states (not sure how to quantify this)

Worst:

All mid west states, including Arkansas and Missouri. That area of the country might as well be Iraq.

No particular order:
Favorites:

La (Nola)
D.C.
NY (city)
California
Florida

Worse would be the freezing state not close to any real metropolis

Really now? How many states can offer mountains, beaches, and deserts as well as multiple big cities with sports teams/music/food/shopping for entertainment? You can find anything you want there

Tigerdroppings hates liberal states such as CA. I'd wager most that have CA in their bottom 5 haven't traveled there, or at least seen enough of the state to really know if they like it or not.

The stark difference in southern CA and northern CA is amazing. Both are beautiful. Probably the best topography in the US.

God I love this mentality.

What is there to hate besides cost and traffic?

Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach, San Diego, Santa Monica, La Jolla, Malibu, Beverly Hills.

Beaches to ski resorts. Unbelievable food. Always something to do from concerts, sports, zoos, museums, etc.

Pacific Coast Highway. Great weather.

Yeah this place sucks!! Louisiana is awesome!

California is amazing, and if anyone hates it because it is largely liberal then I don't even know what to say. Absolutey pathetic
