The Midwest is like the south with worse weather and none of the redeeming qualities.

I like you. You seem objective. Better mentality than most posters who even after seeing everything would scream that Lake Charles is better than Newport Beach because of the traffic.

I'm willing to accept that there are nice aspects of the state that I've overlooked. I haven't been there since high school so it might be a trip worth taking in the next few years.

Maybe it's different if you live there.

You know what they say: there's no place like home. I haven't lived in La. in a long time but every time I visit I feel like moving back. There are a lot of problems there but it just feels comfortable to me. And the food! The oysters here are just not the same...trust me on that.

Nice weather states are places that you can go to the beach without having to put snowchains on your tires.

You can do that in those places and find nice weather during the summer. They get 4 true seasons, which is another selling point for someone like myself. I don't want 12 months of beach weather

Anyone who puts cali in their least favorites has either never been there or is a moron. There's something there for everyone unless you're just completely miserable

In those 10 picks, you only managed to name 4 states.

You don't know much about Oregon and Washington, then. Not much snow, except in the mountains. Portland doesn't get any snow at all in most years...

Dude, I live in WA state and other than up in the mountains we've barely had snow on the ground for six years. I don't know where you got the idea that it snows much here.
