You'll have a cracked tooth/abscess. I foresee a root canal, crown, opioids, sleep in your future. That will be $350 dollars.

More like tree fiddy $10 bills.

One would think cold water would be super painful but it got me through those two days without putting a gun to my head.

The endodonist that did my root canal said that when someone comes in and says that cold water helps, their pain is off the charts. I was working out of state in BFE and dealt with it for a week.

I landed at the airport, drove straight to the dentists office without an appointment, and said I need this thing gone now. He made a quick phone call and I headed to the endodonist and got it done that day. They gave me pain meds, but the root canal was such a relief that I didn’t need them.

Crush an aspirin and cover that tooth and surrounding gum in it.

Wait do I need a dentist referral to a Endodontist? Can I call and make an appointment myself? My normal dentist isn’t an endodonist and there is no way this won’t require a root canal at a minimum.

So they can bounce you back and forth and drain you like a lemon. Its a joke. The dentist will charge you for a visit then send you to the Endodontist. The Endodontist will then do a root canal, charge you like hell for it then put a "temporary" filling in your tooth. Tell you to go back to the dentist who will do a "final" filling and charge you out the arse for it when it only takes about 15 mins

I asked the dentist why the Endodontist didn't put a final filling in there instead of a temporary one and he said " Endodontists don't do fillings". He can do a temporary one but not a final one.

Dammit...

To be honest this has been hell. A throbbing tooth sucks so bad. I kept hoping I just pissed off my tooth and it would settle down. Instead I am up staring at the clock wondering when I can take more medicine.

I had two root canals at the sane time. My first. Never had a crown or anything. Endodontist did the root canals then sent me back to the dentist for the permanent fillings. Since the tooth is dead, there is no need to do any drugs. Just sit me in the chair, spent 2 mins drilling the temporary filling out and stuck in the two permanent ones. Maybe took 12 mins total

Charged me $300 a tooth.

Well the endodontist I am looking at went to Harvard, my dentist went to Georgia college of medicine.

I have no clue if that actually matters, but sure as hell sounds like a big difference.

Since I live in Georgia, I make it a point never to wear a Auburn shirt when I go to the dentist or anyone else who has sharp objects around me.

Just advice from a old man.

Are you up early for fishing or up late?

Just awake, I never sleep.

No trip today. I am working on some new Tackle business all day. I am about to launch a new series of baits and I have spent a ton on it. Makes me not sleep.

Tylenol makes an Arthritis level pill at 650mg a pill. This stuff saved me when I had a broken tooth, and also a herniated disc in my neck.

If u pour a BC powder on the tooth and let it melt over the tooth that really helps. Also switch back in forth between ice and a heat pad. This helps release the gases in the tooth pocket which is the cause of most of the pain.

Over the night on Saturday I must have been grinding my teeth as I woke up to a throbbing pain in my back molar.

Cocaine eh?

I got an abscess in my tooth at just about the worst time you could think of, rifle range at boot camp. Wasn’t fun, hurt like shite, could barely open my mouth to scream, could barely eat.

I didn’t get it looked at until after boot camp because the pain went away for some reason after a couple days and I didn’t want to get dropped back to another platoon, I toughed it out. Wouldn’t recommend it.

You can take 800mg of ibuprofen for the first 24 hours then switch to every 6 hours until you get it taken care of.

The key is orally taking it every 4 hours, including waking up at night and taking it religiously.

I hope you feel better.

If it's awful, you can go to urgent care but there's not a whole lot they can do.

alternate ibuprofen and tylenol

This....

Do 800mg of Ibuprofen. 2-3 hours later do 1G of Tylenol. Stagger them back and forth like that.

Only do this for a couple days until you can get in to see the dentist.

You can't get pain pills due to all of the drug addicts who ruined it for us folks who actually need them.

It’s an abscess. Go to urgent care and they’ll get you started on antibiotics. Once those kick in, the severe pain will go away.

Clove oil can be an effective (and relatively inexpensive) topical anesthetic for tooth pain.

LINK /

You can get it at most any pharmacy without a prescription.

Good luck, tooth pain sucks moose crank.
